BALA MELA – 2021

An outreach program for the underprivileged children

In connection with Children’s Day, the students and staff of Montfort College celebrated Bala Mela 2021, an outreach program that aims to empower students and encourage them to become responsible citizens. The children from three different orphanages were invited and the entire day was dedicated to them. There were 120 participants including the caregivers as guests. It was a day filled with fun and frolic.

The program started with a formal inaugural function. Mr. Chandramouli Head of CSR and Mr. Krishnaraj Head of Corporate Communications from First Indian American Company (FAI) were the guests for the function. After the initial inaugural formalities, the children from all the three homes, Planet Hope, BGMS and Krishnashraya, showcased their talent on the stage. Later the College Kid Buddies took the students to different locations for games and fun activities.

At the end, children were provided with goodies like backpack, lunch box, water bottle balloons and snacks which they received with mixed emotions. It was truly a gratifying and a memorable day for the little guests and the young hosts. The children returned happily with the promise that they would visit again.
