Policies

The general purpose of policies in a college is to advance its educational mission by defining and establishing certain norms of behavior. It documents the principles and procedures governing the institution, which gives certain guidance and directions in decision making to ensure fairness and uniformity. At Montfort College, the policy manual is aimed at demonstrating best practices that define its systematic approach in governance, outlining steps for achieving the institution’s objectives and ensuring consistency in procedures. 

This POLICY MANUAL provides the Montfort College community with a written record of governance, academic and operational policies and procedures to guide and assist administrators in performing its assigned functions. They are written expressions of management philosophy and direction, established to provide guidance and assistance to administrators and other members of the Montfort College community in the conduct of its affairs.

This Manual will be updated through changes or additions after due discussion in the College Internal Quality Assurance Cell and approved by the Governing Body periodically. The procedures and policies in this manual will be reviewed, expanded upon and updated as and when required so that the needs of all the stakeholders are met.

Dissemination of Policy: The procedures stated in these policies are intended to cover students and  staff on / off-campus, whilst engaged in activities on behalf of Montfort College or whilst involved in the Montfort College employment/study commitment. Montfort College shall ensure that all parties involved are informed on all relevant issues related to these policies. Copies of these policies are kept in the library and offices. For new-students, one hour class in each semester is dedicated, for dissemination. Salient features of the relevant policies shall also be given to any independent contractor with whom the college has a business relationship, as a mandatory part of that business contract.
