Montfort College IQAC organized a five-day webinar on the theme “Mental Health in an Unequal World”. This webinar was aimed at enabling the current students to cope with the difficulties that the pandemic poses and also to gain skills that would enable them to help others through the counselling sessions they provide during practicum. The topics were chosen with the special focus of showcasing the diversity of mental health and the access of different types of mental health support. Five specialists well-known in their field were invited to share their experiences on various topics, one on each day.

 

Day 1; 29 November 2021: Children’s Mental Health and Disaster
The first day’s session was facilitated by Dr. Sony Kutty George, child protection specialist,
UNICEF.
Day 2; 30 November 2021: Ayurveda and Mental Health
The second day’s session was facilitated by Dr. Aakash Khebhavi, director & consultant surgeon at
Ashtanga Wellness Pvt. Ltd.
Day 3; 1 December 2021: College Students and Mental Health
The third day’s session was facilitated by Dr. Nithya Poornima, consultant clinical psychologist,
NIMHANS.
Day 4; 2 December 2021: Supervision and Mental Health of Supervisees
The session on the fourth day was facilitated by Dr. Vasuki Mathivanan, consultant psychologist &
founder of IAPS.
Day 5; 3 December 2021: Art Therapy: Avenues to Mental Health
The last session was facilitated by Dr. Saher Ali, an art therapist.
