In Compliance with NEP, B.Sc. Statistics and Computer Science is a three year under graduate program with fourth year leading to an honour’s degree. Statistics is the language of the current information era, which is filled with uncertainty. This curriculum is a compact blend of thorough Statistics courses plus and an adequate amount of Computer Science, Mathematics, and Operations Research courses to complement and provide variety after completion of the degree. The program’s goal is to provide a foundation for further study leading to post-graduate or doctoral degrees. Students are also given skill-building courses such as research methods, statistical packages, and R programming.

This combines theoretical rigour with technical abilities, preparing students to be globally competitive and pursue a lucrative career path even after graduation. The career opportunities include in the fields of Commerce, Investment Banking, Banks and Insurance Sectors, Statistical and Economic Bureau & various PSUs, Market Research, Actuarial Sciences, Biostatistics, Demography, etc. It also offers a variety of non-traditional job opportunities, such as Stock Broker Analyst, Sports Analyst, Poll Analyst, Business Analyst, Financial Analyst, Content Analyst, and so on. The students also have the choice to pursue other courses of higher education after completing B.Sc.
